With
the home and away season over,
the Under 12 Reserves
competed in the Qualifying Final against North Ballarat at Maddingley Park
on Saturday. On a perfect
day for football the Under 12 Reserves played a fantastic game against a
very strong opposition. They
applied great pressure for three quarters, but dropped off in the last
quarter to be defeated by North Ballarat 3.4.22 to Darley 0.3 3.
The coaches award went to Matthew Horan and Jake Romeo received
the medal for the best on the ground.
Congratulations to Rick Thacker who was named Under 12 Reserves
Coach of the Year, and Kye Dennison who won the Goal Kicking Award
at the Ballarat Football League Robert Allen Medal Awards Dinner
on Wednesday, 18th August, 2010.
The
Under 12 Seniors
came
up against East Ballarat in the Elimination Final on Sunday at
Maddingley
Park.
East Ballarat got off to a good start in the first quarter, but
once the nerves settled, Darley got their running game going and took
the game right up to East Ballarat.
Darley kicked three unanswered goals in the last quarter, but
were unable to bridge the gap and were defeated by
East Ballarat 7.5 47 to Darley 6.2 38.
Goalkickers were Matthew Young with 2 and singles to Drew Locke,
Matthew Del Casale, Jaden Leslie and Jarrod Johns.
Award winners were Khyle Forde, Taylor Elms, Kallin Trotman,
Jaden Leslie, Matthew Young, Kane Dickson and Liam Douglas received the

The
Under 14 Seniors
also
took on East Ballarat in the Elimination Final at
Darley
Park on Sunday.
After a slow start, which may have been contributed to nerves as
it was the first finals game many of the boys had played in, they
controlled the game for the next three quarters, outscoring the
opposition. Unfortunately,
they were unable to peg back the lead and were defeated by
East Ballarat 4.11 35 to Darley 3.9 27.
Goalkickers were Harley Riddell, Jake Ancrum and Leigh Spiteri.
Award winners were Tom Thacker, Bryce Ferry, Matthew Inglis, Liam
Cahill and the medal for best afield went to Jake Ancrum.
Congratulations to Harley Inglis from the Under 16.5 Seniors who was
selected to play with the Senior Team on Saturday against Melton South
and played very well.
